Defined by soulful four-part harmonies, Little Big Town's sound consists of twangy, heartfelt melodies that take you deep into the back country of the blues. All four members step up and alternate singing the lead, like in its hit song, "Boondocks." This mixture of singers creates a distinctive sound that brings a new dimension to the conventional country music of the day. Yet, clearly a country band, Little Big Town's vocal talents carry the band to a unique part of the country world; the music becomes a synthesis of a familiar country sound, a blues-based slide guitar, and a fantasia of vocal harmonies. Presented by 94.5 The New Thunder Country, Little Big Town, along with a long line-up of country music acts, will play a free show in Rosa Parks Circle on Sunday, Aug. 22. The show begins at 1 p.m. and is schedule to last until 9 o'clock that night. There will be food and other activities so come out for the best free country party of the summer.
