One of the most well-known groups in West Coast rap, Cypress Hill has sold more than 18 million records worldwide. This Latino American hip hop group from South Gate, Cali. released its self-titled first album in 1989 with the lead single, "The Phunky Feel One"/"How I Could Just Kill a Man." The success of its double platinum first album was followed by the release of Black Sunday in 1993, which debuted at number one on Billboard 200 and went triple platinum. With both Cypress Hill and Black Sunday still getting play, Cypress Hill became the first rap group ever to have two albums in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 simultaneously. These releases were followed by five other albums-III: Temples of Boom (1995, platinum), IV (1998, gold), Los Grandes Éxitos en Español (1999), Skull & Bones (2000, platinum), Stoned Raiders (2001), and Till Death Do Us Part (2004). Its eighth and newest studio album, Rise Up-which was released on April 20-features contributions from artists such as Everlast, Daron Malakian, Tom Morello, Marc Anthony, Pitbull, and Mike Shinoda. Though primarily a hip hop group, Cypress Hill is known for experimenting with various other genres, including rock, rap, and reggae. Witness for yourself the unique music style and award-winning rhythm when the Rise Up tour stops at the Orbit Room on Aug. 3.
