The great Swedish pianist Per Tengstrand returns, and this time he's bringing his duo partner (and wife), Shan Shan Sun. Together they perform Saint-Saens' witty and irreverent Carnival of the Animals, complete with the zany peoms by Ogden Nash. The West Michigan Symphony performs one of the most glorious pieces ever composed for strings, the Tchaikovsky Serenade, as well as a witty tone poem by Respighi. A mid-winter treat. |
