Pop Scholars, a comedy troupe born in Grand Rapids last year, is causing a comedic commotion with its foray into the Chicagoan style of long-form improvisational comedy. The group will break in the new stage at Dog Story Theater's Jefferson Street location this weekend. Performances are at 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, so grab your imagination and your funny bone and head down to the doghouse.

ArtPeers Before ArtPrize Thursday–SaturdayBefore the hullaballoo of ArtPrize hits the streets of Grand Rapids, check out the scene at ArtPeers Fall Festival, a non-competitive event to promote the work of local artists. This free event will take place along Wealthy Street from Sept. 9-11, and will feature the work of more than 100 artists and musical performances from bands such as Ribbons of Song, Valentiger, WaZoBia, and more. Happy Anniversary Thursday–Sunday

Bell's Brewery is celebrating its 25th anniversary from Sept. 9-12 with West Side Winders on Thursday, Sept. 9 and a lineup of bluegrass on Friday, Sept. 10 — and that's just to kick off the weekend! Sept. 11 will present Bell's homebrew competition, followed by a musical lineup of Ein Prosit!, Deal's Gone Bad, Rolling Head, and My Dear Disco. Get a Clue Opens Friday
Blue's Clues LIVE!, a family-friendly tale of adventure and sleuthing, will be playing at the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre starting Sept. 10 and running through Sept. 19. Put on your thinking cap and join Blue, Steve, and all their friends through a clue-based quest through Storybook Forest; $8-14.

Hispanic Festival Friday and Saturday
The Hispanic Center of West Michigan presents its annual Hispanic Festival this weekend at Calder Plaza. The event seeks to promote an understanding of Hispanic cultures while raising funds to enhance the center's programs. Highlights include live music by Los Mismos, a dance competition, a visual art exhibit, and food from Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
For a little bit of rockin' and a whole lot of rollin', check out the Rock the Felt Festival in Saugatuck, which will feature Canadian icons The Guess Who (Friday), Michigan's own Pop Evil (Saturday), a Beatles' tribute band (Sunday) and many others to raise money for the Friends of the Felt Mansion.
