You've heard about the mysterious REVUE Minions. You may have even seen one out and about in a REVUE t-shirt. Who are they, and what do they do? More importantly, how can you become one?
Read on.
The term "minion" is not necessarily a bad one. In fact, Webster's describes a minion as "1 : a servile dependent, follower, or underling, 2 : one highly favored : idol."
Bottom line: Our minions are highly valued.
Each semester (fall, winter, spring/summer) we look for minions that can up REVUE's awesome factor. We even hire some of our minions (yours truly, for example, was a minion. So was our marketing representative, Renee Meadors).
A big question we get asked is, "What does a Minion do?"
Minions help us in a serious way. REVUE is a small business, so there are many tasks for each Minion to take on. We are looking for Minions with experience in:
- Journalism
- Public Relations
- Marketing
- Blogging
- AP Style
- Microsoft Office
We take each Minion's experiences, talents and interests, and tailor tasks that fit their personality. However, there are opportunities for Minions to get experience in all the projects we have to do here. Some of the tasks we have our Minions do include:
- Contests
- Calendar listings
- Writing articles
- Magazine distribution
- Tasting gelato
- Marketing projects
- Research for future magazine features
- Postering for events
- Eating pizza
- Sales sheets
- Viral marketing (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- Blogging
- Mailings
- Munching on kettle corn
- Proofing
- Fact checking
- Watching YouTube videos
Sound interesting enough?
