Here's a special friends and family deal for REVUE readers! Print off this page and you can get admission to the Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM) for just a buck -- that's right $1 -- on Friday night, May 21. You can wander the musuem, check out the art and even enjoy a Michigan microbrew.
What's the occasion? REVUE will be hosting a one-hour discussion-panel on local music, featuring:
- Ken Heffner, who books the innovative music series at Calvin College will talk about trends he's seeing in the indie music world, from Pitchfork to Paste
- Mike Crittenden, front man of Troll for Trout and owner of Mackinaw Harvest Recording Studios will talk about the recording biz, including how to maximize studio time and minimize dollars spent.
- Brad Raffenaud, owner of Sprout Media, which books live music for a variety of venues including Billy's, Founders, Saugatuck Brewing and the new Park Theater in Holland, will talk about getting gigs locally, regionally and nationally.
The discussion runs from 6-7 p.m. Be a coupon clipper (or just print off the sheet and bring it with). Questions? Email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
