Fall Bonsai Show - Grand Rapids

The West Michigan Bonsai Club bends minds and little trees. Take in the ancient art of patient and skillful plant manipulation at the Frederik Meijer Gardens Oct. 17 and 18. Observe many varieties of uniquely distorted deciduous and coniferous plants, which can live for hundreds of years with dedicated (and multi-generational) care. Spooky Tunes Laser Light Show - Grand Rapids

Throughout the most frightening month of all, you can check out your favorite Halloween songs at the Grand Rapids Public Museum Planetarium. This family friendly event features dazzling visual effects to accompany the Halloween tunes will run Tuesday Oct. 6, 20 and 27 at 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m. A special showing will be Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. Free to GRPM members, $3 in addition to Museum admission for non-members.
