While Crawlspace Theatre does not feature any national acts, the in-house comedy troupes such as Crawlspace Eviction, Kind of Pretty Women, t&a and Brotherhood keep audiences in stitches. The theatre allows discounted prices for those under the age of 18 and also features the option of enabling interested parties in renting the comedy troupe, Crawlspace Eviction, for their own personal events.

Dog Story Theater is the place to go for cheap comedy. Its Comedy Mondays are always $5, or you can wait until 10 p.m. and get into its improv jam for free, right after the Comedy Mondays show. Frequent acts have been the one-year-old Pop Scholars comedy troupe, which originated as a short-form improv group that transitioned to long-form improv.

Featuring nationally recognized acts, Dr. Grin’s Comedy Club offers a show on Thursday nights and two shows on Fridays and Saturdays. Food and drinks are also served, featuring everything from cocktail specials to the bar food you know and love. Recent comics to come through Dr. Grin’s’ doors include Comedy Central’s Greg Fitzsimmons, and “Best Week Ever” guy Doug Benson.

When Gary Fields’ comedy club closed, he was hired at Firekeepers to book local and touring acts in the casino’s Cabaret Lounge. Every Wednesday, you can see these acts for free: No admission, no drink minimum. Each comedian will perform two shows — one at 7 p.m. and one at 9 p.m.

Its most frequent act is Comedy with Frank Roche and Kris Peters, which features two shows a night — one at 8:30 p.m. and another at 10:30 p.m. — and is $5.

You don’t have to pay a cover charge or buy a minimum amount of drinks to enjoy a comedy show at Jack’s Lounge. The lounge, located inside the Spring Lake Holiday Inn, has entertainment in the form of touring comedians. The 21 and up shows start at 9:30 p.m. and include drink specials such as a $3 shot of the night, as well as after show drink specials such as $2 domestic drafts and $2 wells.
