This intriguing documentary focuses on Ferus Gallery, birthplace of the Los Angeles art scene. Ferus proprietors Walter Hopps and Irving Blum groomed a loose band of idealistic beatniks into a coterie of competitive, often brilliant artists. When Ferus brought to work by New Yorker's Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns and Roy Lichenstein to Los Angeles, nearby Pasadena mounted Pop Art's first museum exhibition.
