| From Grand Rapids, MI, Those Eighty Acres is defined by its four members as a subtle fusion of folk, rock, country, and pop. It is comprised of core members Nate Scott, Jordan Griffis, Dan Slane, and Kevin Fein. Dan and Nate were introduced in mid 2008 and came together in early 2009 with the intention of musically filling out Nate's narrative song writing. Guitarist Jordan Griffis, a friend of Dan's from two previous projects, came into the picture shortly thereafter. Nate then called on an old friend and musical co-conspirator of his own - soon Kevin Fein stepped in on bass duties and the group was complete. The band adds auxiliary musicians and vocalists as needed and is always looking for future collaborators. Their first studio album, 1905, is the fruition of the four's love of music, literature, art, and peace; it features additional vocals by Lindsy Griffis and The Howlers' Matt Ten Clay.
